Tutors are needed to help children succeed in school by giving them the extra support they need to read. Did you know that helping children become successful readers begins in early childhood? Minnesota Reading Corps- the nation’s largest state AmeriCorps program- trains tutors to impact students in schools across Minnesota. We are looking to place preschool literacy tutors at Diamondhead, Hamilton and Rahn schools to commit a year of service and change the world of struggling students. Tutors are awarded a biweekly living allowance and an education award of up to $2775, and the reward of making a real impact in your community. Tutors may use the education award to pay off student loans or for future tuition. Tutors who are 55 or older may choose to transfer their education award to a child, grandchild or foster child.
